Boat Customs in Caledonia is a paint and design shop for the marine trade, led by Chris Mills. Its services include custom paint, graphic design and repair, computer aided design, gel coat repair, hull blueprinting, fiberglass modifications and wrap around windshield conversions. It paints overall schemes on fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar, gel coat, steel and most plastics, using an AkzoNobel Sikkens paint line, and it creates custom renderings before work starts, with a deposit required. Mills previously ran his own shop in Lansing, focused on custom painting for hot rods, mini trucks and street bikes along with full collision repair. The shop works with a high-tech CAD system, SolidWorks and Corel software and Rolland stencil plotters, and it has a conference area, a lobby and several offices.
