About Fred's Custom Boat Repair
Fred Denhard founded Fred's Custom Boat Repair in 1963 off 8 Mile Road in Detroit, building and fixing custom wooden boats. As the industry moved to fiberglass in the 1970s, the shop learned that material too and later moved to its current home at 7677 Highland Road in Waterford. Today it handles fiberglass repair, restoration and custom work, plus refinishing, with a portfolio of finished projects. It also runs a one-stop winterizing and storage service: shrink wrapping and winterization for all makes and models, with onsite indoor and outdoor winter storage. Quotes are available by phone at 248 666.2220. Rated 4.8 from 42 Google reviews, 38 of them five stars. Hours are posted, and the entrance and parking lot are wheelchair accessible.
